This event forms part of the CTC West Yorkshire DA Events Programme and is registered with the CTC Tourist Trophy Competition. The 400 km course has to be completed within 27 hours. There is an entry fee of £8.00 (£9.00 when paying by PayPal).
Not Quite the Spurn Head 400 offered riders the chance to visit a part of Yorkshire which is truly unique, and which may well soon be reclaimed by the North Sea (but hopefully not too soon). There was also the chance to spend time in some of the less visited parts of the East Riding. Unfortunately the cafe at the tip of Spurn Point has now closed and has been removed, but most of the event remains, with the sand and pavé being replaced by the Isle of Axholme.
The Tourist Information Offices in Halifax (01422 368725) and Hebden Bridge (01422 843831) may be able to provide details of more up-market accommodation in the area.
