Our last car assisted ride – to Rufforth led by Keith Robinson – was a really popular event and our next car assisted ride is on Sunday 13 August.
This time the ride is from Fairburn and is in memory of our much missed friend John Radford, who organised a similar ride on many occasions. The ride comprises morning and afternoon loops from Fairburn Village Hall. The morning loop is 42 miles with a coffee break at Selby Morrisons after 30 miles. The afternoon loop is 40 miles with a refreshment stop after 20 miles at the Ferry Inn at Cawood. Obviously folk who do not wish to do both loops are free to return home at lunchtime. Those familiar with the area will know that the routes are almost entirely flat featuring many quiet lanes.
Fairburn is five miles off the M62 (exit junction 33) and can be easily reached from Brighouse in 35 – 40 minutes. With the ride proper starting at 9.00, we will meet at Bethel Street Car park Brighouse at 7.45 for an 8.00 departure to Fairburn. WILL EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE THAT REFRESHMENTS AT LUNCHTIME ARE NOT BEING PROVIDED AND YOU ARE ASKED TO BRING YOUR OWN SANDWICHES, GOURMET FOOD, etc.
If you are interested in coming along, particularly if you are able to offer a place or places in your vehicle for either a rider or a bike (or both) could you please let me know by text on 0776 332 8804 so I know what to expect in terms of numbers. Thanks.
Calderdale CTC Committee have generously contributed towards the cost of hiring the Village Hall in anticipation that, as in previous years, the event is well supported by Calderdale CTC members. Hoping the weather is kind and we can get a good turnout for what is always a very sociable event with our friends from Huddersfield CTC.
