About Calderdale CTC

We are a friendly sociable cycling club, who see cycling as a wonderful way to take exercise, explore the local area and enjoy the scenery in the company of others.

We go at the speed of the slowest rider and won’t leave anyone behind. New members are particularly welcome.

We have a varied programme of rides ranging from 20 – 70 miles. Most rides will include at least one café stop for a chance to refuel and chat. Our rides are mainly on-road, though we may use well-surfaced tracks, greenways and canal towpaths. Rides set out from different start points around Calderdale. Check out our Rides section for more details

Living in the Pennines, rides tend to be hilly, so a light road bike or hybrid is an advantage. We also welcome riders with electric bikes. We always regroup at the top of a hill, and there is no shame in getting off and walking!

We also organize a variety of events, from fun evening clue hunts to more challenging long-distance (Audax) rides. In the winter months, our clubroom programme gives the opportunity to hear about members’ cycling adventures and other topics.

Calderdale CTC is part of Cycling UK – a nationwide organization campaigning for the rights and interests of cyclists across the UK. Membership of Cycling UK gives you a number of benefits as well as the right to take part in rides with other groups across the country, as well as Calderdale CTC. You can come out on your first three rides with us before deciding to join Cycling UK.
